Modular Communication Systems, Inc. (ModUcom) is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the State of Iowa as an approved service provider on the state’s master contract for 911 CPE Hardware and Software. ModUcom will be implementing its state‐of‐art Ultra‐Com IP 911 CPE solution.
ModUCom was chosen to provide Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) hardware and software for Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) that will help the state manage the transition to Next Generation 911 (NG911) technology.
The new Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) standard is changing the industry and prompting many PSAPs to upgrade their 9-1-1 systems. The ModUcom Ultra‐Com IP meets or exceeds the goals set by Iowa and is compliant with current NENA i3 NG911 requirements and standards. ModUcom is the only company that offers free software upgrades for the life of the system. This feature ensures the ModUcom system will never be outdated or cost large expenditures for future requirements.
ModUcom president Peter Hong said, “We’re very excited to be chosen by the State of Iowa to implement our Ultra‐Com IP 911 CPE solution, which will help emergency personnel and first-responders communicate effectively with the community in both a legacy and NG environment.”
ModUcom is preparing to participate in the multiple‐vendor ICE 6 event, which will include an end-to-end Test of i3 Architecture, scheduled for November of 2014.
